You are very courageous and wise to ask for help, Lexi. I am sorry you are struggling. I used to feel like I was strange and unusual for how I felt during my youth when my problems with self-injury started. But we are not alone.
Better than internet friends, you need someone who you can talk to in person. Can you think of any adults you trust with whom you can start this challenging conversation? A parent, teacher, doctor? Someone who can help you find resources to get the help you need.
Spending time every week or two with a psychologist has been a huge help to me. Someone like that can help you find what triggers your feelings and help you figure out what you can do to work on changing your thought patterns. You can succeed in overcoming this!
