I am in my thirties and had SIed on and off since I was 13 – though it has been a while since I have done any SIing.
Many of my scars have faded over time – I found that some of the over the counter scar products are helpful. I also had a massage therapist tell me that for some of the more noticeable and raised scars that if you massage them it helps break up the scar tissue (not sure how accurate that is, but at the very least a gentle massage feels nice)
I mainly just cover them up and wear long sleeves and pants. Scarring is pretty permanent so hard to make them all go away. For me make-up doesn’t help, but from talking to others who have SIed, they have used concealer and other products that have helped cover them up (just as long as they are healed)
