For me, distraction. Reading, writing, anything to get my mind off of hurting myself. For me personally, accountability helps too (though this does not work for everyone, and I would also advise that if you pick that, please make sure it is a safe, trustworthy person who will keep things confidential).
Exercise really helps me. Endorphins, which are released through S.I., are also released through hard work outs. I would encourage you try working out.
