How does this site work (/.\) I joined because its a way for me to stop injuring i hope? Uhm yeah any suggestions how to stop and ask for help. . . Its not as easy as i thought 🙁
Btw i’m only thirteen years old and i been injuring for 6 months relapsing 3 times .
I was trying to reply to your comment that you posted on someones post. If there is any foul language or descriptions about what form of self injury you do . Then its sent to the pam filter and the moderators change what you said to make it appropriate. The point is that some people are driven back too self harm because of specific details about it.I have only been part of this blog for a week and its great. I talk to some of these people on a daily basis for support. Every one on this blog will tell you its not easy to stop. But with support from friends and even a therapist it gets easier.
If you would like to talk in more detail/ share stories you can email me @ blueyedginger717@hotmail.com
Hi I started to improve when I spoke to someone about it, I went and saw a health professional and told them what I was doing and we talked for ages,I knew why I was doing it but just couldnt stop as it was the only thing that helped me get through whent I was feeling.
This person taught me about what we call triggers, they are things that might be the reasons why we SI, everyone is different.
When you know why your doing it and can work on those feelings and can work out your triggers then you can start to move towards recovering, this takes time and some times we lapse (go back to doing it again)but that is ok, we all make mistakes when we are trying to change and we can learn from those and then look at what went wrong and do something about it.
I hope this helps.
If you know your triggers or write them down if you also write down what keeps you from self harming thats a great way to move past it . Someone told me that they made a calendar about when they had urges to self harm and when they over came those urges I have never tried that but just some ideas.
