Okay, first day of the final semester of school for my freshman year. I failed a bunch of classes last semester, and I wanted to start fresh, and actually try to get my grades up. But instead of encouraging me, you say “ehh [his wife’s name] doesnt feel like it. So we can’t go get you the materials you need for all your new classes. I need 6 notebooks, pens, pencils, a new binder and a couple other things. You say you don’t have money. You just got a 5 dollar pay raise. Your being paid 40$ an hour. You bought yourself and your wife new cars. You bought two new motorcycles, but whenever I need something for school, “You don’t have any money.” I don’t believe it. Occasionally, I do need things.
Wow.. maybe you could try and bring that up to them? Try and.make them understand that you’re trying to get things together and you need supplies. You want a fresh start and you need things for school to do that.
That would be very hurtful and I’m sorry they responded that way. Especially since you want to do better and are motivated to do so. I can see why you get discouraged. Have you told someone (an adult) at school that this is happening? I am sure if you told someone, they may be able to help. We all need to reach out for help once in a while, and it sounds like now is a good time.
You are valuable, and don’t let them make you feel otherwise.
Best wishes, Pam
