First, you ARE strong enough. you are strong enough and you are worth the fight to a life without self injury. dont be discouraged, keep fighting. It is hard right now because its just part of the process, but the process to recovery is important because it will get you to where you want to be, and that is awesome. Dont give up. Keep fighting, listen to music and write in a journal. but DONT let the voices tell you that you arent worth it because you are. and you can do this.
Everyone relapses. It doesn’t mean you can’t stop now.
But.. did you stop the voice inside your head? Or did you give into it? You can stop it. But giving into the voice in your head doesn’t stop it. It just quieted it until you have the urge to SI again.
To truly stop it, you have to replace it with a good voice. Your voice. Your real voice that knows you don’t need SI. You can go read or take a walk or call someone catch up with instead.
You can still beat it.
This has nothing to do with strengh. The key is not to punish yourself for relapsing but to learn from it.
For example, asking yourself, “why now” did I chose to injure…
What could I have done instead
What is my plan for the next time I have an impulse to injure etc.
The most important thing is not to use a relapse as an excuse to continue to self-injure.
