I made a vow to make a bracelet for each week I don’t self-injure and take them all off if i relapse. It’s been six and a half weeks. I had two different ways to s.i. I made the vow to not do one. I stopped the second way months ago, but then I picked it back up a couple days ago. I didn’t make a vow to not do the second kind of injury. So is it wrong to keep my sobriety bracelets on? No one knows that I’ve slipped back.
Hmmm…my guess is the fact that you’re asking this question means you may already suspect the answer. It’s obviously your choice to make.
It’s great you’ve been able to not injure in the first way (we won’t say the specific ways as that could be triggering). But our philosophy at S.A.F.E. is that any form of injuring is injuring. When it comes right down to it, do both forms of injuring have the same outcome for you? That’s just something to think about. Again, it’s your choice to make.
Keep on asking questions. It’s the best way to get yourself to a better spot.

You always give such good advice, Pam.
In my opinion i think you should take off the bracelets and restart and this time vow to do neither of them. I’m on my recovery and i am staying away from it all because i know if i do one i may later decide to do the other and i don’t want to risk it. Start over and try again. Try and break free.
that is a really great idea, btw(:
i think that you should take them all off. you did sorta ‘cheat’, right?
and anyway, its not really up to other people to see that you’re doing well, it’s more important for you to know that your doing well.
