I was wondering how the dontcut number works. Like can I call it just when I feel like injuring and I need someone to talk me down? Anyone call it before? Or anyone that like proofreads the posts.. can you explain it to me?

Hi – what a good question. Sadly, the 800 line is not a crisis line, but one you would have to leave a msg. at and we’d call you back. We are working towards having a 24 hour line, and that would be through http://www.selfinjuryfoundation.org . But that has not happened yet due to lack of funding/staff. We are a very small agency, even though we all wish we could do more.
There are 24 hour crisis numbers, and I’ll put them below in case you’d need them. Thanks for asking this question!

What if I’m not suicidal but just having urges?
Or having that feeling like I’m lost and just need a real person to pull me back?
Like can i call without telling them my name?
Like an ambulance isn’t going to show up at my door and take me to the nearest hospital just because i need someone to talk to is it?
I was wondering this too… I just need someone to talk me down sometimes and I was wondering pretty much exactly the same things as crossinglines.
Staystrong
