Two and a half weeks… thats it? I keep looking at my calander and feeling quite dissappointed. Anyways, I didn’t get on to write, I just have a question… Is there a way to see a phsychologist without my mom finding out?
I’d say almost 3 weeks is pretty darn good! Keep up the good work! Try to stay positive, because that IS an accomplishment. I do not believe there is a way to see a psychologist withour ur mom finding out. Then again, it depends on how old you are… If you’re over 18, you may be able to… But otherwise, I don’t think so. Hope it all works out. Stay strong.
Depends on how old you are. The trouble is that most psychologists cost money, so your mom would need to know if you were seeing one of those (assuming you’re not financially independent, which I’m guessing you’re not, otherwise you wouldn’t be worrying about your mom finding out). You could see a school counselor, but generally, high schools aren’t too equipped for that. I would research free clinics in your area via google and see if any are available. Or, if you have a university/college nearby, you can check on their counseling services.
Also, when I first started seeing my therapist, I tried to think of as many ways as possible to see her without my parents finding out. In the end, there was no way I could pay for her on my own, so I asked my parents if I could see a therapist for social anxiety/pre college issues (I didn’t tell them about the self-injury, suicidal thoughts, etc). They didn’t think twice about paying for me to see her. So sometimes it is better to tell your parents a little, for sheer financial sake.
I have a really good friend who really cares about us. I havent talked to him in a while, I will call him he is a psycholigst, would it be ok if I shared this info with him?
My mom still pays for my insurence but I’m 20. So I don’t know how much the privacy laws would help if shes still in charge of the bills. I checked my college campus services and they really don’t have anything that would help me out. I’m saving just asking my mom as a last resort. She’s already overprotective. I don’t want her worrying any more than she already does.

Sure, I don’t mind.
