Seems I’m having some major problems with the process in login … every time I put in the password I put in my profile, get a statement that word is not in the system…
Meanwhile, am having a very rough time right now. Planning to come to SAFE February 2 from Virginia and overwhelmed by the reality of such a trip in just two weeks. I would love to corrrespond with someone who has already been through the program. I’m 62 … so my adolescent issues way behind me.
Dear Carrie,
I’m glad your post made it through. If you (or anyone else) have difficulty posting, please feel free to call our 800 number or email us at info@selfinjury.com.
I’m also glad you’re reaching out for some feedback from folks who have been through the program. That’s a great step.
Best wishes, Pam
Hi Carrie!
I’m so happy you’re planning on going to SAFE. I just graduated from the program….2 days ago =). First off, let me tell you that there are patients of all ages there, and while many of the SAFE patients may be of a younger age (not necessarily adolescent), the environment is very open and non-judgmental. If there are any issues you need to discuss, don’t be afraid to speak up!
The trip can definitely be overwhelming, but it is definitely worth it to go. They give you lots of tools to learn about your impulses, negative thoughts, etc. and alternative coping strategies. Is there anything specific that you wanted to know?
