……..Please note the reporter is looking to interview people who S.I. by self-inserting or self-embedding objects under the skin. The purpose of writing a story focusing on this form of S.I. is two-fold. The first is creating awareness in general, and the second is to offer radiologists, whose job is to locate embedded objects, additional insight into this phenomenon………
My name is John Fauber and I am the medical reporter at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. I am doing a story on self-embedding or self-insertion. I am looking for teens who have engaged in self-embedding who would be willing to talk to me for my story. I can be reached at 414-223-5479 or by email at jfauber@journalsentinel.com
Hi SAFE Co-founders,
I love the opportunity to blog and read blogs and I really like that you have added this blog for you guys to communicate with us. Thank you. There is one thing though that bothers me. There is a separate blog to ask for study participants, so why is this one here in this blog, not that one? I am really excited to read your blogs but I don’t want to be triggered by things when I go to read what the staff has to say. If you have to write on the top that it is triggering, I believe it should not be on here at all or it should be under the study requests. You do a great job to make sure that the blogs are safe and non-triggering, so I guess I am not sure why you would post that here. If someone wants to read about studies and that kind of stuff, let it be a choice and have them go to the blog designed for that. One of the things we learned at SAFE was that we do not talk about methods of SI and we do not share graphic details. I like it that way and I like that the blog has that rule too. It helps when you can go on this blog site and not be triggered, so I was shocked when that came up on this page. I really believe that over-stepped a huge boundary that SAFE helped me to set.
Dear ErinMichelle,
You are correct, thanks for pointing that out. We are human, and make mistakes sometimes :-). The post is now only in the “SI and Media” section.
We do our best to keep the blog “safe”.
Pam
Hi Pam,
Thanks for changing that. I did not mean for my comment to come out rudely or be an attack on you. I’m just a little sensitive right now. Thanks for all you do both on this blog and on everything else! I hope you have a happy holiday season.
Erin 🙂
