I do not know if there is a connection in any way with Seasonal Affective Disorder kicking off impulses as Fall is honestly my toughest time of the year. I have done really good in the last 13 months up til this week when the weather changed, and it got more rainy and cloudy and now cold.
I am still at my media job and now recently have to actually remind myself how lucky I really am. Even my T feels that this could be problematic with the change in seasons and noting impulses with an elevated frequency.
I guess I am stuck when I have been dealing with alot.
I’m open to suggestions
Sure the Seasonal Affective Disorder could be a contributing factor especially this time of year when the weather is against you to be and you have nothing to really do. We all have choices in live and your would be do it or don’t do it. I also know that this time of year is rough for me and that my impulses are at their max. Why don’t you make a list of what you would do instead of SI it might help and also if you ever heard of the book “Bodily Harm” read it might also help get you through whatever you have to get through I have read the book and also gone to the program. If you need to write here is my e-mail address: denny666@verizon.net I hope this helped a little and remember everyday you don’t hurt yourself is one more thing to be proud of. Hope I hear from you. Take care.
i have the same thing with the season, and this sounds strange, but last year i got something that actually really helped me. its this alarm clock/lamp that gets brighter and wakes you up naturally. sounds silly, but for me waking up in a peaceful way helps me deal a lot better during the day. Also don’t beat yourself up, 13 months is awesome! the way you are feeling right now makes sense, we are programed to sleep when its dark and thats what our bodies try to do, just do it day by day, and do whatever you can to take care of youself

Thank you for the reminder – I guess there is ways to avoid this as I had taken a suggestion from my T. and being that I’m handy and can build things I made my own light box. The thing is I work the Nocturnal shift (Overnights)
so It will be more challenging.
I have found nothing is more challenging than dealing with our own lives.
This is one challenge I am willing to undertake, after looking at it.
