Last night was not so bad when i finally went to sleep. I did sleep with the tool under my pillow only because if i had the urge to injure I could have. Today is a brand new day, and i have the chance to be ok and try not to let things get to me so easy. There are so many things that can set me off or change my mood swing so fast it unbelievable. I just have to find ways to help me with that. do some one have some ideals please tell
Try to stay in the present moment. Don’t hold on to the past or worry about the future. And if the present moment doesn’t feel very good, that’s o.k. It will pass. Let it pass. Take a deep breath. Or 5 or 6 deep breaths, and let the moment pass. When you have urges to hurt yourself distract yourself with other thoughts and activities. Then reward yourself for not cutting by doing something that feels good like eating a treat, wearing something that feels nice, listening to music you like, giving someone a hug, etc. Remember that we are all here for you, thinking of you, fighting with you, rooting for you. We believe in you, and we know you can do this. It’s just one step at a time, one moment at a time. You are beautiful and special, there are amazing things you are meant to do in this life, and you are supposed to live a good life. We really believe that for you. We want you to believe that, too.
I have the same exact problem as you!! I sleep with the tool closed inside of my pillowcase incase I ever get the urge. Just be patient and you will figure out that it is possible to stop. I still SI, but I am trying to stop too. Try doing what I do….
I am not sure what yours is, but lets say its 5, try going down to 3 a day, then 1 a day, then try to extend it, like 1 time a week, then 1 time every couple of weeks and so on.
We are all here to help you. And don’t be afraid, and it is Safe to write here. – Chad
