The planet Earth needs our help. Starting tomorrow I will use my own grocery shopping bag, turn off the water when brushing my teeth, turn down the thermostat 2 degrees, and buy one of those funky pretzel look-a-like light bulbs. What can you do? Let me know, and share your Green goals with a friend too.

Recycle: You can save 2,400 pound of carbon dioxide per year by recycling just 1/2 of your household waste
Check your tires: Keeping your tires inflated properly can improve gas mileage by more than 3%. Every gallon of gas saved keeps 20 pounds of carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere
Use less hot water: install a low flow shower head (saves 350 pounds of CO2 per year) and wash your clothes in cold or warm water (saves 500 pounds of CO2 per year)
Avoid producats with a lot of packaging: You can save 1,200 pounds of CO2 per year by cutting your garbage by 10% NO STYROFOAM!
Plant a tree: a single tree will absorb 1 TON of CO2 over its lifetime
And please do not litter!
I have been a college cross country runner for the past 3 years, however, now I am taking a break to take care of myself, and my goal this summer is to bike to close stores, or sub shops, to walk, to carpool, and to just stay active. I think, that healthy people in general may tend more to lead a healthy life, such as the biking to not drive. Also, Nalgene bottles, or reusing water bottles is another awsome way, thats just one little change in life to make a diference! Go GREEN
i made my first step–installed those funny pretzel like light bulbs and i am driving a company car that is a hybrid, so i guess i have made 2 steps. if i could just get those around me to understand the importance. our company is making a green effort by recycling printer cartridges, soda cans, etc. may green find everyone!!!!!!!!!!!
Even though I go to the most environmentally friendly colleges in the United States (The Evergreen State College), I don’t really recycle. I try to, but I just can’t seem to care about anything right now. I have to fight myself just to get schoolwork done. The world sucks. End of story.

Use natural cleaning products! All those horrible products on the market contain bleach and other chemicals that are bad for the environment. It’s a huge business and there seems to be so much fear around germs. Common household items like baking soda, vinegar, and peroxide can be used to clean the house without harming the environment.
I don’t own a car, so I usually walk or bike to work, and bus to school. I’m lucky because Portland (OR) had a great transit system and is considered a very green state.
Namaste,
